Diego Escobar Obituary Mount Arlington NJ, Firefighter Died in Tragic Car Accident

The community of Mount Arlington is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Diego Escobar, a beloved Army veteran, newly minted firefighter, and devoted father, who tragically lost his life in a motor vehicle accident on Saturday, August 3, 2025.

Escobar, who recently completed Firefighter One training and joined the Mount Arlington Fire Department, was described by colleagues and friends as a dedicated leader, a loyal friend, and a hero both in uniform and in spirit.

Roberto Moreno of Mount Arlington Fire & Rescue shared the devastating news in an emotional tribute, writing,

“It is with a very heavy heart that I announce the passing of Diego Escobar, Army Veteran, Squad leader and Friend… Please pray for his six-month-old daughter and family. Thank you. 🙏”
He also encouraged those struggling with grief to reach out to the emotional support hotline at 888-653-3367.

Mount Arlington Fire & Rescue also released a statement expressing their sorrow, saying:

“Diego joined our department this year and successfully completed the requirements of Firefighter training. We are saddened by this news and are asking for prayers for his family during this difficult time. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later time. Godspeed Brother, we have it from here!”

Escobar’s death leaves a profound void in both the firefighting community and his family, particularly his infant daughter, who is now left without her father.

To honor his memory and support his grieving family, the President of the Mount Arlington Fire Department has launched a GoFundMe fundraiser titled “Honoring Firefighter Diego Escobar’s Memory.”
The fundraiser states:

“We are raising funds to help his family give him the proper burial he deserves. The money will also go to supporting the family in any way necessary during this difficult time.”

Diego Escobar’s passing is not only a tragedy for those who knew and loved him but also a solemn reminder of how quickly life can change. His legacy of service—to both his country and his community—will not be forgotten.
